3. Greysia Polii/Apriyani Rahayu, Indonesia

The Indonesian duo has shown a very consistent performance throughout the year. Only once in 14 tournaments did they lose before the quarterfinals and they even reached the semifinals in seven of their eight tournaments. Greysia Polii and Apriyani Rahayu fully deserve their position as number 4 on the BWF World Ranking and they qualified to Guangzhou as the third best pair on the HSBC Race to Guangzhou Ranking. The Indonesians were in three finals in 2018 and won two of them.

4. Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai, Thailand

Thailand’s best women’s double started 2018 with a title on home soil as they won Thailand Masters in January. That should turn out to be the only gold medal of the year for Jongkolphan Kititharakul and Rawinda Prajongjai who are number 8 on the BWF World Ranking. The two did however still have a very good year with one other final, two semifinals and no less than eight quarterfinals. Additionally they also played a key role in Thailand’s success at the Uber Cup where they reached the final back home in Bangkok. Fun fact: Both finals of the year were against Indonesian opponents.
