The countdown to Guangzhou has started. All the eight best of the year in each category is in China to compete in the HBSC BWF World Tour Finals 2018. Here is a presentation of the players in the men’s single category.

1. Chou Tien Chen, Chinese Taipei

Chou is ranked 1 on the HSBC Race to Guangzhou Ranking and 3 on the normal BWF World Ranking. The Taiwanese has been in seven finals this year, of which he won three. Chou claimed the titles in German Open, Singapore Open and Korea Open,while he finished as runner-up in India Open, the Asian Games, Denmark Open and Fuzhou China Open.

2. Kento Momota, Japan

The Japanese has been outstanding in this first year after his comeback. Momota has been in no less than nine finals and claimed the titles at seven of them, including the Asian Championships and the World Championships. At the Asian Games he lost unexpectedly in the round of 16 but nevertheless he is the only men’s single player to have more than 100,000 on the world ranking. Kento Momota is second on the HSBC Race to Guangzhou Ranking and solidly number 1 on the BWF World Ranking.
