Denmarks succesfull mens doubles paring Mathias Boe & Carsten Mogensen will play their last tournament together at the All England Open next week – New Danish top doubles are ready!
Lately Boe/Mogensen have had a huge drop in level losing many matches they normally don’t loose. The Danish Badminton Federation (Badminton Denmark) have had a rocky period with a huge conflict wich luckily now is over, but in that time the doubles have not performed well. Boe have moved away from Denmark and Mads Conrad left the national training back in November. Now Boe is back in Denmark and Conrad just announced he is back ready and hungry for more – and now together with Boe!
“The head of sport in Badminton Denmark has before discussed the opportunity to put Boe and Conrad together as they have performed very well in Thomas Cup before. The timing and circumstances have not been there before, but now we can test them as a pairing” says Head Of Sport Jens Meibom
This is a huge decision and must be last call for Boe who is 38 years old, but probably aiming for the Olympics together with Conrad if everything works out for them. Badminton Denmark will test the pairing until summer 2019, and then make a final decision about it.
Carsten Mogensen will pair up with Conrads former partner Mads Kolding, and also this pairing will be in a test period until summer 2019.
So the danish doubles look like this at the moment:
Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen
Mathias Boe/Mads Conrad
Carsten Mogensen/Mads Kolding
Frederik Søgaard/David Daugaard
Welcome back to Conrad and thanks for everything to Boe/Mogensen, we cannot wait to follow this amazing couple in their last tournament at The All England Open next week.
